Controversial singer Habeed Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, was arraigned on Monday at the Federal High Court in Ota, Ogun State, facing a nine-count cr+minal charge.

The charges, confirmed by Ogun State Police spokesperson Oluseyi Babaseyi, include assault, th+ft, causing harm, and resisting arrest. Portable’s arraignment follows a viral video on Sunday showing him in police custody, reportedly linked to a complaint filed by his estranged partner, Ashabi Simple.

Authorities allege that Portable att@cked Ashabi and several police officers, along with other individuals, at his bar in Iyana Ilogbo on New Year’s Day. Other victims named in the case include Ileyemi Damilola, Akinyanju Oluwabusayomi, Olowu Olumide, Demilade Ogunniyi, and Ebuka Odah.

Portable is also accused of ste+ling a Mercedes-Benz E300, valued at N12 million, belonging to Ileyemi Damilola and sold through Wally Dex Auto. In court, two of Ashabi Simple’s siblings testified about the alleged a+sa¥lt, although she was absent.

The police further claimed that Portable obstructed and assaulted a female officer, Inspector Ogungbe Olayemi, while she was on duty. The presiding judge denied Portable bail, stating the need to hear from the allegedly a+saulted officer before making a decision. Portable was subsequently remanded in custody, with a fresh bail hearing scheduled for January 19.
