As Nigerians continue to celebrate the two medals already won at the ongoing Tokyo 2020 Olympics, a video of the country shot put athlete, Chukwuebuka Enekwechi washing his Jersey has gone viral on social media.
Enekwechi is set to compete in the final of the shot put event in the next few hours but he has been forced to use a jersey for the whole tournament.
In the viral Tik Tok video, Enekwechi was seen washing his jersey so he could reuse it after he had secured a non-automatic qualifying spot as he prepares for the final.
The voice-over in the video indicated that the Nigerian athlete has only one jersey.
The video was shared with a caption that reads: “Ain’t this something? They coulda gave your boy a second jersey for the Finals of the #olympics 😅😅😅========================== #shotput #discus #tokyo2020”.
