Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Ali Nuhu and Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen will each be getting a special recognition award at the Best of Nollywood 2017 Awards.
The executive producer of the awards, Seun Oloketuyi, said the award sought to recognise the effort of exemplary professionals in the industry.
He said: “Every year, we take it upon ourselves to recall the sacrifices and strides of those elders whose arts and artistry have catalysed the growth and global acceptance that Nollywood enjoys today.
“We don’t want to wait until these veterans are dead to give them posthumous awards, which is why we have decided to celebrate them while they are still alive and active.
Besides, this year’s honourees are a source of inspiration to young actors and budding filmmakers across Nigeria and beyond.
The ninth edition of the award, which will hold at Rock City, Abeokuta, has other nominees vying to win in several categories.

Meanwhile, this year’s edition will be hosted by Hausa actress (Kannywood) Rahama Sadau and actor Gbenro Ajibade.
Veteran entertainment reporter now Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Dayo Adeneye, aka D1, said the present administration in the Gateway state was proud to be identified with the event.
“We promise to give all the needed support to ensure that this year’s edition is an even greater success story,” he said.
