Pastor Tunde Bakare, founder of the Citadel Global Community Church, recently paid a courtesy visit to President Bola Tinubu in Lagos.

The meeting reportedly focused on pressing national issues and the state of the country.

Bakare, who was the running mate to Muhammadu Buhari in the 2011 elections, has been vocal about the need for urgent action to address Nigeria’s challenges. In a recent state of the nation address, he urged President Tinubu to implement a “coordinated programme” to restore stability and warned against authoritarian tendencies.

“Stop playing God,” Bakare said in April, cautioning that the administration is veering the country off course. While critical of the government’s direction, he stressed that his intention was not to condemn but to offer constructive guidance. “It is time for this government to embrace humility,” he added.
