Nigerian dancehall ainger, Patoranking in a recent interview, talked about how he contributes to humanity through his songs, instead of living a glamorous life like most of his colleagues.
He also admonished people to pay more attention to the lyrics of singers, noting that the tragedy of crooner Mohbad would have been averted if people paid more attention to his music lyrics.
His words read:
“It’s very important we pay attention to Lyrics, lyrics is key.
“If we had paid attention to the lyrics, we would have seen signs from Mohbad.
” We all want to dance and jump, but when the beat stops…
” We are not there yet, we are just scratching the surface.
“Are we gonna get there… Yes.
“Are we gonna pass there… Yes.
“But we need to understand that it is a collective effort.
“It is a ‘we’ situation not an ‘i’ situation.
“Not I did it, we did it”.
