Controversial social media personality Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), was re-arraigned on Thursday by the Inspector-General of Police at the Federal High Court in Abuja over allegations of cyberb¥llying several public figures, including actresses Iyabo Ojo and Tonto Dikeh, and music producer Samklef.

VDM appeared before Justice Musa Liman on a five-count charge but pleaded not guilty. His lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, requested that he remain on the bail terms previously granted by Justice Mobolaji Olajuwon. The prosecution did not object, and the court maintained the original bail terms, adjourning the case to July 24 for trial.

The case, initially heard by Justice Olajuwon before her transfer, was reassigned to Justice Liman. VDM had been previously arraigned on May 22, 2024, under Section 24 of the Cybercrime Act, and granted N10 million bail with strict surety conditions.

The charges against VDM include posting offensive and defamatory content on Instagram, such as accusing Iyabo Ojo of an indecent relationship with her daughter, alleging that Tonto Dikeh diverted funds meant for the Justice for Mohbad campaign, and making derogatory statements about top police officials and lawmakers.
