Grammy-nominated rapper, DaBaby was taken into custody by Miami police on Thursday, January 2, 2020.
According to Miami police spokeswoman Kenia Fallat, the American hip-hop star whose real name is Jonathan Lyndale Kirk was detained and taken to Miami police headquarters to be questioned in reference to a robbery investigation on Thursday around 12:30 PM.
After the questioning, he was arrested for battery in connection to the robbery investigation. His bond has been set at $1,500.
According to TMZ, the victim in the alleged robbery is a concert promoter, who was meeting up with DaBaby and his crew to pay for a gig, but the rapper believed the promoter cheated him by several thousand of dollars and things went out of control.
The arrest comes just days after he was arrested in Charlotte, North Carolina after he performed at the Bojangles’ Coliseum. He was reportedly picked up for marijuana possession, but he claims he was targeted and that police like to harass him every time he comes to his home state.
