Singer Ayra Starr disclosed that before she joined the Mavin records, fellow label singer Rema early success has always motivated her.
In a recent interview with Capital Xtra, Ayra Starr revealed that Rema was always open minded with her and first listens to her unreleased tracks to be able to give her an honest opinion.
In her words;
“Rema is a very good friend. I look up to him even before I joined the label;his first EP, I was like Wow!, this is a Nigerian teenage boy, he was like 18,I was like wow! I didn’t know it was possible.
I can do this too, he’s very honest with me, I play him almost every song before it comes out and he’s just like ‘hm, I don’t know about this one’, and if he likes it, ‘This one’s a demo, Ayra, Ayra, Ayra, try, try, try’.
So yeah, he’s a very good friend and he’s an amazing artist, I get inspired by him definitely”
