Ex-presidential aide to Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri has revealed names of first Nigerian to win Grammy Award, shockingly Burna Boy is not included.
In his Tweet, Reno was giving encomium on the Yoruba race as ‘the most successful ethnic group in Nigeria’.
Supporting his point, he highlights some achievements of the Yoruba race in Nigeria. Among them, he states that the first Grammy-award winner in Nigeria was a Yoruba man.
Then, one of his followers, trying to correct him, points out that ‘Burna Boy is not from the enthic group of Yoruba’.
His response reads:
‘Dear @UzorOnuigbo, Burna Boy is not the first Nigerian to win a Grammy. The first, second, third and fourth Nigerians to win Grammies are, Sade Adu (86), Babatunde Olatunji (1991), Sikiru Adepoju (1991) and Seal (1996). All are Yoruba. Thanks and God bless’
