Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie in a recent interview revealed why he swallowed his pride to congratulated Shatta Wale over his collaboration with American pop star, Beyonce.
Speaking on Vlad TV, he indicated that he needed to applaud his brother though they were beefing at the time the “Already” song was dropped.
According to him, if Shatta Wale does something and needs to praise regardless of the situation of not being in good terms with him he has to do it.
He said It’s way bigger than us, it’s way bigger than him. It’s not about Shatta Wale. It’s about all of us and if we don’t push it to reach that next level, we all lose out. We are all gonna miss out.
This is an opportunity for us to capitalize on it and move. So if Beyonce is in doing a song with Shatta Wale and I am in Ghana and I don’t see that as an opportunity, then I don’t think you’re open-minded enough, I don’t think you’re deep or smart enough. This is a great move that opens doors for all of us”.
Ghana’s finest rapper noted that “So I have to congratulate him whether he likes it or not. Sometimes he says I’m not supposed to congratulate him [laughs] but I say he doesn’t have the right to tell me what I have to do. This is beyond you and it’s a big moment so congrats again to Shatta Wale. That was huge and that is still huge.”
