Justice Obiora Egwuatu of the Federal High Court in Abuja has recused himself from the case filed by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central District.
During Tuesday’s proceedings, despite the case being scheduled for hearing, Justice Egwuatu announced his decision to withdraw.
When the court clerk called up the matter, he ruled that he was stepping aside.
Citing allegations of bias from the third defendant, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, as the main reason for his decision, the judge stated that he would return the case file to the Chief Judge for reassignment to another judge.
