Pop Queen, Madonna, 64, has been forced to postpone her tour after she was found unresponsive and rushed to a New York City hospital last Saturday, June 24.
According to her manager, the global popstar developed a serious bacterial infection, which led to “a several day stay in ICU”.
In a statement, Guy Oseary said Madonna’s health is improving, but she is still under medical care.
Sharing the news, he wrote in a statement this evening: “On Saturday, June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which lead to a several-day stay in the ICU.
He added: “Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected. At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour.”
He concluded the statement by writing: “We will share more details with you as soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows.”
Her upcoming Celebration tour – which was announced earlier this year – had been due to launch next month.
The tour is expected to celebrate her decades-long career in the music industry, which has included numerous chart-topping singles such as Like a Prayer, Vogue, and Into the Groove.
