There was pandemonium at a polling unit in Ikot Udo Ossiom village, Ukanafun Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State as soldiers shoot ballot-snatcher dead.
The suspected culprit was gunned-down by soldiers drafted to the area for the governorship and State Assembly elections on Saturday, March 9.
The Nation reports that upon arrival of the Independent National Electoral Commission officials to the area, the man made a move to scamper with the ballot box but was stopped by soldiers.
However, he came back a second time and took away the box. The soldiers opened fire on him and shot him dead.
His corpse was left at the scene of the incident, just as the area has been thrown into mourning.
