One of the prestigious Universities in Nigeria, University of Ibadan has just recognized, prolific Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Moshood Mayegun for his outstanding creativity in the Nigerian make-believe industry. Mayegun is mostly popular for his acting skills in the Yoruba section of movie productions in Nigeria.
Mayegun who made this announcement via his social media pages; said he is more than grateful for the special recognition, while promising not to take the opportunity for granted.
Although, he wasn’t available to pick the award, Mayegun sends his apology and hope to visit the institution someday so as to be able to interact with students.
Addressing the media after the award was delivered to him in Lagos yesterday, the producer of “Alaborun” said; “First of all, I want to apologise for my inability to pick up this award in person, it was due to circumstances beyond me. I promise to visit you guys very soon, kindly convey my sincere apology and appreciation to your other team members, to the organizers of this notable awards, I say thank you, to my fans who have always been there for me, I say thank you.”.
“I also want to dedicate this special award to my colleagues, both established and rising ones. This award does not mean, I am the most talented or hardworking actor or filmmaker. I see this award and will continue to see it as a constant reminder to improve and get better in my career, I promise to keep working very hard to satisfy my fans, and never will I take this opportunity for granted.” he assures his fans.
Mayegun also sieze the opportunity to speak on his new movie, which drops on Monday, the movie which center around the travail of a family, the challenges that rocks their relationship and the suspicion that surrounds the intermittent wealth of the husband, and the revelation of the family saga, is titled “Odun’nbaku”. Adding that, it is a movie for everyone out there, especially those who desire to have a happy family.
Directed by ace movie director, Ayuba Sodunke, “Odun Nbaku” parades top movie stars, such as Ibrahim Chatta, Adeniyi Johnson, Biola Adebayo, Bisola Badmos, Peju Omobolanle, and the very talented Moshood Mayegun.
Moshood is an independent movie producer who has produced several movies; some of the movies he self produced are “Black Man’which is also regarded as his debut production, “Blood Line”,“Omojuowolo” and “Forgiving Heart”. Produced in 2019,“Forgiving heart” the movie which became a trending flick on the internet, especially on Youtube, attracted more fans for the good looking actor.
Some of the movies produced by Moshood Mayegun also include,“Teni Tika” and the very recent one, “Alaborun”, which is fast becoming an internet sensation. Moshood who has featured in over a hundred films, has worked with some of the biggest names in Nollywood, some of this top names include; Antar Laniyan, Funsho Adeolu, Mide Martins, Niyi Johnson, late Moji Olaiya and many more.
