Nigerian screen Goddess Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has revealed that she stopped reading blogs because it destroys relationships.
The happily married actress and mother of four said during a live show that she had never regretted that decision.
Omotola said that before she took the step, she thought it was impossible and even gave the excuse that as a public figure, one needs the social media to thrive.
“When I stopped, I thought I was going to die, I even defended it that it was necessary to check these blogs as an actor… But I didn’t die,” she said.
The multiple-award-winning actress and UN ambassador revealed that she had to quit blogs for her peace of mind.
“Social media is addictive and before you know it, it ruins relationships” Omotola opined.
She also said that social media makes one more conscious of others, making one do things to please one’s followers out of fear of being bashed and not what you really want to do.
Omotola was the first actress to warn latest celebrity couple Adesua and Banky W to keep their relationship away from the social media before wishing them a blissful married life.
