A suspected local yahoo boy who was detained by the police has explained how he transfers money from people’s bank account using just his victim’s SIM and Bank Verification Number (BVN).
Speaking in Yoruba, the man who is yet to be identified at the filing of this report, while being interrogated, said he uses the bank codes on any sim card that receives bank alerts to transfer money to another account to which he has access. He also mentioned that he takes loans from the banks of any sim card he lays his hands-on.
It would be recalled that in 2020, Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, says he has two wives and four children, who are all British citizens.
He also said he is not a criminal and has no idea what the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission found on his laptop.
Naira Marley, who claimed to be 28-years old, said apart from storing his songs and music videos, he had never done anything illegal with his laptop and not into fraud (yahoo boy)
The artiste said this in his statement on oath which he made while in EFCC custody, which was obtained by The Punch.
According to Naira Marley, he did not own a laptop but was given one to use temporarily to upload videos on YouTube.
He also said the laptop had no password and could be accessed by anyone.
