Philippe Yannick Iwuegbu, is one of Nigeria’s fastest rising entertainer from Imo State.
Armed to the teeth with determination to make a huge difference in the Entertainment Industry, the budding actor cum rapper is putting in efforts to curb piracy in the industry.
“I plan to change the face of the Nigerian entertainment industry by working to prevent piracy of contents like music and film, by pushing every content to the internet only.
Thereby, making more money for the artistes. I want a stage where they can reply on only sponsored ads online without performing on stage.
I also want to encourage the government and investors to promote the industry online because it is cheaper than traditional media like TV and Radio.
Adding to that, I want to create an app where you can access all types of entertainers on one platform.
This is to prevent scams and fraudulent acts by unknown persons. All we need to do is work together to make this happen, ” he said.
Continuing, the multi-talented artiste raises concerns about the future of the Entertainment Industry in Nigeria and how best to tackle the menace.
He said: ‘Investors really needs to invest in content creators to make and promote their products on social media which is the new world order.
It can be accessed from anywhere in the world also making money for the creator or artiste.
I also want to mentor younger kids planning to get into the industry. More efforts would be put in to promote them.
My dream has always been to help and push the industry which I am happy is getting recognition gradually.”
Philippe also revealed that he started his career about five years ago, but has also been working on other side projects as well.
According to him, “I started making music when I was in high school.
Later, I developed love for comedy as well as Film making
I was one of the most famous entertainers in school back then, I also won the best entertainer in school. Although, I hail from Imo State, I have been in lagos all my life.
In 2005. I shared the stage with Samklef and Chuddy K at the Swimming Pool Garden, Ajao Estate, Lagos, Nigeria.
I just released an EP called the unknownEP which has about ten songs and its been featured on top naija music blogs.
Few months back, I met with Falz in London and had a little discussion with him based on my music career. I really appreciate the effort and moves he has been making.
I see myself taking after his steps as I do Instagram skits, music and movies as well.”
