Nwuruku Ozor Alex widely known as Alex Ozone, international show promoter, Alex Ozone, has fault the validation Nigerian singers sees in winning Grammy.

According to the talent manager, the same way AFCON is celebrated without validation from the American or western media, is the same way our music should be respected without validation by their awards.

He expressed his displeasure in a social media posts, urging his compatriots to stop twerking for the Grammy that the Americans need Afrobeats more.

His post read:

But this idea of “winning Grammy” as a way to judge Nigerian artistes is very self-defeatist.

Afrobeats is too big to be seeking validation from Grammys. American artistes should be in, Cape Town, Lagos, Accra or Kigali hustling for awards and validation from the motherland.

The same way Afcon is being celebrated without validation from the American or western media, is the same way our music should be respected without validation by their awards.

Reggaeton or even Indian artistes don’t rate Grammys the way Nigerian artists/fans twerk and hype the awards. There’s a real world out there that doesn’t give a dime about the opinion of the American market.

The American music industry needs afrobeats more than Afrobeats needs them, and that’s on facts ✌️🥂🦾!!
