Atila Pesyani (Persian: آتیلا پسیانی) was a prominent Iranian actor and director who was active in cinema, theater and television. He was born on April 30, 1957 in Tehran, Iran. He was the son of Jamileh Sheykhi, a famous actress and singer. He studied painting at the College of Fine Arts in Tehran and later pursued acting at the Dramatic Arts Academy. He started his career in theater in 1984 and soon became one of the leading figures of the Iranian stage. He worked with renowned directors such as Bahram Beizai, Peter Brook, Mohammad Rahmanian and Ali Rafiei. He also directed several plays, such as The Cherry Orchard, The Seagull, The Glass Menagerie and Death of a Salesman.
 

Films and Awards.

 Pesyani made his film debut in 1988 with The Last Act, directed by Varuzh Karim-Masihi. He appeared in more than 40 films, some of which are considered classics of Iranian cinema. He collaborated with acclaimed filmmakers such as Tahmineh Milani, Dariush Mehrjui, Rakhshan Bani-Etemad, Asghar Farhadi and Bahman Ghobadi. Some of his notable films are Two Women (1998), The Hidden Half (2001), Ceasefire (2005), About Elly (2009), A Separation (2011) and Rhino Season (2012).
 
He received several awards and nominations for his performances, including four Fajr International Film Festival nominations for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor.

 Pesyani was also a popular television actor who starred in many series and miniseries. He played diverse roles in different genres, such as comedy, drama, historical and social. Some of his memorable TV works are The First Night of Peace (2006), Privacy Policy (2009), Goodbye Child (2012), Like a mother (2013) and A Beautiful Revolution (2014).
