Singer Mr Real recently disclosed the reason behind his refusal of Davido’s offer to finance the video production of his hit track ‘Legbegbe.’
During the latest episode of the Terms and Conditions podcast, Mr Real explained that he turned down the opportunity due to fabricated stories about him relayed by his colleague, Idowest, to Davido’s crew, 30BG.
“This guy, Idowest, had gone to 30BG and said things that I didn’t say. Do you know how I found out? When I was looking for funds to shoot ‘Legbegbe’ video, Idowest and Obadice came and told me that Davido wanted to shoot the video for us.”
Mr Real expressed his decision not to accept Davido’s offer stemmed from a realization that it was an attempt to manipulate his street credibility. He mentioned observing manipulative actions and situations related to the offer.
He also added,
“On a norm, how can I reject Davido’s offer to shoot my video? But as a discerning guy, I realized that they want to control my street credibility; they want to complete it with the video, where I’d only have one scene.”
Previously, in 2018, Mr Real collaborated with Obadice and Idowest for the release of ‘Legbegbe.’ However, last month, Mr Real accused Idowest of appropriating ‘Legbegbe’ and undermining his career.
