Professor Akinwande Oluwole Babatunde Soyinka who is also known as Wole Soyinka, is a Nigerian playwright, poet and essayist in the English language has received his first dose of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.
The vaccine was administered by Tomi Coker, Ogun state commissioner for health, on Friday.
This was disclosed by Olaokun, Soyinka’s son, in a post via his Twitter handle.
Professor Wole Soyinka was awarded the 1986 Nobel Prize in Literature, the first sub-Saharan African to be honoured in that category. Soyinka was born into a Yoruba family in Abeokuta.
