Teyana Taylor has taken legal action against her ex-husband, Iman Shumpert, accusing him of leaking sealed court documents about their divorce to the media.
According to legal filings obtained by TMZ Hip Hop, Taylor claims the unauthorized leak has led to a wave of online backlash against her, fueled by misleading reports about their divorce settlement. She clarifies that there was no “settlement”—each party only received what was awarded by the court.
This included vehicles and a tour bus, which she says she personally paid for. Taylor also alleges that she had to purchase a Maybach after Shumpert crashed, totaled, and abandoned her Rolls Royce without replacing it. Regarding property division, Taylor states she was awarded four properties, while Shumpert received three, including a Miami condo he had originally gifted to her.
She also suggests that the timing of the leaked information was no coincidence, pointing out that it surfaced just as Shumpert released a new rap song—implying he used their divorce controversy to generate publicity.
Taylor says she endured public scrutiny and online hate while Shumpert benefitted from the trending headlines. Now, she’s asking the judge to hold him in contempt of court, seeking a 20-day jail sentence and the maximum fines allowed to hold him accountable.
