Renowned Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham recently voiced her frustrations over the constant public scrutiny and pressure regarding her personal life, particularly about expanding her family.
In an interview with TVC’s “Your View,” Abraham candidly addressed the rumors and the emotional toll they have taken on her.
Abraham, a prominent figure in the Nigerian film industry, expressed her distress over the intrusive questions about when she plans to have another child with her husband, Kolawole Ajeyemi. She emphasized the trauma of constantly being asked about her plans for more children, despite already having a son, Ire, and a daughter from her husband’s previous relationship.
“People are always asking me when I’m going to have another baby. They don’t realize how painful these questions can be,” Abraham shared. She recounted how, even during the premiere of her latest film, her doctor had to be on standby, hinting at underlying health concerns.
The actress also addressed the assumptions people made a few weeks prior, mistaking her appearance for signs of pregnancy.
“You don’t know if I am on fertility drugs or on a fertility journey,” she said, urging people to be more considerate and to refrain from asking personal questions about marriage, pregnancy, or childbirth.
Abraham’s plea highlights the often overlooked emotional impact that public speculation and pressure can have on individuals, especially those in the limelight. Her message is a call for more empathy and respect for personal boundaries in the public discourse surrounding celebrities’ private lives.
