Yul Edochie is a Nigerian actor, film director, politician, and TV personality known for his amazing acting skills and intriguing voice in his movies.
Son of veteran actor Pete Edochie and a graduate of theatre and dramatic arts from the University of Port Harcourt.
Yul Edochie Early life
Yul Chibuike Daniel Edochie, named after Russian Actor, Yul Brynner and simply known as Yul Edochie was born and raised in Enugu by his parents Pete and Josephine Edochie as the last child in the midst of five older siblings.
He, later on, moved to Lagos so as to pursue his career life. He is currently at his early 40’s

Yul Edochie Education
Yul had his nursery and primary education at Lillian’s day nursery school and Robinson street primary school respectively, both of which were located in Enugu and between (1984-1992). His secondary education took place at four schools all located at Enugu and between (1992-1998), (Marist Brothers’ Juniorate, Uturu University secondary school, Ecumenical community secondary school, and New Haven Boys secondary school).
He went on to further his studies at the University of Port Harcourt, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree of arts in dramatic arts.

Yul Edochie Career
In 2005, Yul relocated to Lagos where he was housed by Nonso Diobi(a Nollywood actor) while he pursued his career.
At age 22, Yul joined the Nollywood movie industry and played in his first movie ‘The Exquires’ alongside Justus Esiri, Enebeli Elebuwa, and others.
He eventually came into the limelight in 2007 when he featured in the movie wind of glory’ with Genevieve Nnaji and Desmond Elliott, ever since then, he has continued to grow in the movie industry.
In 2015, he established the ‘Yul Edochie Academy’ to enable him to train the next generation of movie stars as he felt the country was not working towards that.
The actor and politician ran as a candidate for the Anambra State 2017 governorship elections under the Democratic People’s Congress (DPC) and also expressed his intentions of running for president in 2023.
An activist and a man of will, Yul has played the voice of vulnerable people, especially women. He also, during the COVID-19 pandemic put pressure on the Federal Government to provide Nigerians with relief packages to sustain them through the lockdown.
As an amazing actor and personality, he has won many hearts, recognition, and of course, through his undying efforts, awards of which amongst others is the ‘Best Actor’ at the ‘Popyrys Magazine Screen Actors Awards (PAMSAA 2013)’.
Yul Edochie Personal life
Yul is married to the beautiful May Aligwe, now May Yul- Edochie ever since 2004 at the age of 22 after six years of being friends.
Together they have four wonderful children, three sons, and a daughter.
Eventually, news reached the public concerning Yul’s marriage to Nollywood actress, Judy Austin Moghalu in April 2022 and the birth of their son together (Star Dike Yul- Edochie).
Yul says that he married a second wife because he couldn’t let such an amazing relationship with Judy slip away.
He revealed to the public that he loves his son Star Dike as much as he loves his other children.
